. . . is caught cheating?
The Houston Chronicle, which is to Metro and its trolley projects as . . .
. . . tingley Chris Matthews is to President Obama, had to say something editorially about Metro's late unpleasantness with the Federal Transit Administration over Metro's "alarming and disturbing" violations of federal law.
So it's been said. Now back to the Chronicle's regularly scheduled Metro puffery.
Move along, please. Nothing to see here. New Metro. New Metro. New Metro.
I hope editorialist Tim Fleck had to write the the Metro culpa. He has good practice having his heart broken by an iconic liberal hero -- namely former Democratic Judge Eric Andell, who cheated taxpayers while serving as a federal official.
Back when Mr. Fleck graced the Houston Press, he eviscerated the good judge's political opponent for -- delicious irony -- not being so righteous as Mr. Andell. Here, for instance:
In conducting interviews for this column, Andell was careful to schedule them during off-hours, away from his courtroom. On the other hand, [Mr. Andell's opponent] conducted a lengthy telephone interview from his prosecutorial office, during the afternoon of a workday, using county equipment.
Love is, indeed, blind.
