. . . the Koran-burning stunt?
Maybe it's because . . .
. . . the Chronicle's main local columnist, its pride and joy -- Rick Casey -- is himself a Bible burner.
Actually he didn't burn an entire Bible. Just one page. But the principle is the same.
And like the Koran burners, Mr. Casey did it to make a political point.

In honor of that column and many others -- Mr. Casey is deserving of a lifetime achievement award -- I today add him to Unca D's list of jerks, alongside Pastor Terry Jones and Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf. See the right column.
I'll take Mr. Casey off the list the day he sincerely apologizes for what he did. Which is to say, don't hold your breath.
