THE SHELL-SHOCKED Chronicle editorial board has slowly quit poking sharp sticks in the eyes of traditionalist readers.
Editorial insults these days are usually milder, the unintended byproduct of not understanding or appreciating conservative ideas or values.
All except Nick Anderson, who -- protected by his talent and his Pulitzer -- still whales away at us.
After Wednesday's remarkable nationwide Tea Party demonstrations, for instance, he penned this.
I get that he's being dismissive and exceptionally snotty about this unauthorized (by the elite) exercise by a thousands of hardworking people of their right peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for redress of grievances.
What I don't get is the joke. What's funny (or supposed to be funny) about it? What's the point?
Anyone?
UPDATE: Only response so far: "It might make some sense if the label on the golfer were "the Left." Otherwise, it makes no sense.
