When we worship for the right reasons, we do receive blessings. We do receive value from the experience. But the motivation in going to church should never be "for what we get out of it." Our motivation must be "for what we can put into it!"
I'm afraid people who go to church expecting to be entertained are a bit self-centered. Church is not about people-pleasing. It's about God-pleasing.
And while I'm on my soapbox, let me just add one other comment. . . . [There] are actually some Christians who don't go to church because they don't like the preacher. Can you believe it? As if pastors were in a popularity contest for attracting people to worship! Don't even get me started.
