. . . they don't like Texas.
I'm talking about the editorial board and public affairs columnists of the Houston Chronicle.
They've had a lot not to understand or like recently. At the top of the list, at least until November: the infuriating (to them) Ted Cruz primary victory.
But it's the everyday, casual Texas-bashing that gives them away. The paper's standard approach is to declare that civilized people in other states regard Texas as a backwater, a laughingstock, an uncivilized place. If we would but raise taxes and spend more money, however, enlightened outsiders would friend us.
A variety of that argument came last Saturday. Texas finally did something the Chronicle likes. What it is doesn't matter here. What matters is that the only way these Clever People could articulate their happiness was . . . well, read it yourself:
