A FEW DAYS back, the Chronicle frontpaged (correctly) the humliation of the Environmental Protection Agency in a long-running lawsuit against Texas over air-quality permits. The Texas victory was papered over in a settlement with EPA, but everybody knows who won and who lost.
We won.
They lost.
"They" includes the editorial board of the Houston Chronicle . . .
HERE'S AN excellent blast from the past that deserves a replay. It tells us something useful about the current debate -- though there's nothing to debate, really -- about how Obamacare discourages work, not up and down the line but at the margin. From March 20, 2009.
. . . by low-income folks by paying them not to work and taking care of their basic needs with programs to provide a roof, a bag of Cheetos, and a doctor -- all of which will evaporate if they are caught working.
Here's one big way it discourages work by high-income folks:
