LIVING WATER INTERNATIONAL is a Houston-area Christian charity that drills deep water wells in Africa and elsewhere.
You and I take clean and readily available for granted. Yet millions are condemned to risk cholera and dysentery daily by drinking water from shallow and easily conteaminated hand-dug wells. Today would be a good day . . .
. . . to send a check to LWI at 4001 Greenbriar Drive, Stafford, Texas 77477-3922.
Says a recent fundraising letter:
Help us partner with more churches to bring life-saving water to communities like Overspill [a Zimbabwean village now served by LWI wells] -- in Zimbabwe and around the world! Your support will restore health, equip pastors, and strengthen the Body of christ.
This God talk may not resonate with some readers of this blog. So be it. Let me encourage each of you, however, to find ways to contribute money and time to good works suchc as Living Water.
One advantage of contributing through Christian organizations, of course, is that your dollars are leveraged by a lot of free labor by Christian volunteers from America and the host countries.
